Life is a journey. Explore. Enjoy. Keep going.

Journeys Beyond Belief

“Not every journey demands faith—some only ask for openness.”

“Beliefs decide where we bow.
Curiosity decides where we go.”

According to me—and echoed by many thoughtful philosophers—there are three most precious assets we must use wisely:

Time (T), Energy (E), and Money (M)

Go ahead, call it TEM.

These are not just letters. They are the real “currency” of life.

When you live in India as an atheist, a large number of cultural or sacred places—Char Dham, Ujjain, Shirdi, and many more—don’t easily make it onto your travel list. Your mind tells you “Why go?” because it’s not rooted in belief.

But here’s the interesting thing: there is no loss in going. Beliefs and biases are not the same—let’s not mix them.

"On Time, Belief, Bias, and the Journeys That Shape Us."

"Every phase of darkness carries one silent truth—
light is already on its way."

Experience a glimpse of the journey you’re talking about — The Girnar Parikrama.

This video shows the terrain and rituals of the walk around Mount Girnar — a trek spanning roughly 36 km and surrounded by lush forest and spiritual energy.

I had longed to do the Girnar Parikrama and finally executed it in November 2023. Was it different? Absolutely. Was it a varied experience? Without question. It felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

“Sometimes the journey teaches more than the destination ever can.”

When I stayed in Mumbai for six months, friends and I visited the famed Ganesha Temple several times. Yet I entered the temple only once. For the rest of the visits, I waited outside. Why? Because the companionship, the local trains, the long walks, the conversations — those were worth more than the destination itself.

I also spent considerate time at Chaitya Bhoomi in Dadar, Mumbai — a place that aligned with my own likes and choices.

Eventually, one has to explore places not just for spiritual reasons but for ancient wisdom and modern learning alike.

        Towards conclusion......

Alas! Coming to the first point - TEM.

I am not here to define who I am, nor to list my likes or dislikes. Through this post, I wish to convey a simple yet thoughtful message. Despite ideological differences and irrespective of my inclination toward any belief, I have made a conscious effort to explore as many places across India as possible.

So, even within your busy schedule—and keeping your faith aside—step out, visit places, keep travelling, and invest your most precious Time, Energy, and Money wisely. Not everything will resonate with your TEM; learn to ignore what doesn’t. But when something aligns with the gears of your mind, embrace it with full enthusiasm.

“Exploration is not about changing beliefs, but broadening vision.”

🧠 My Thought :-

As I’ve written many times:

“Be a good listener. When you speak, you are just repeating what you already know. When you listen, you discover what you never knew.”

So live fully. Keep travelling.

Because in the end, you are a temporary visitor on this planet
and your return ticket is already booked and reserved.
